Spend a week aboard Saginaw River Coast Guard Station Essexville, MI. Saginaw River Station Coast Guard Essexville Michigan is located at 2405 Weadock Highway, Essexville MI 48732 Cadets attending this training will shadow coast guard personnel on duty as well as receive training in various topics as assigned by the station's training officer.
Cadets will be responsible for their food costs - all other costs are included in the training. You will be contacted with more information about food costs when you apply for the training.
Cadets must be arriving at the station directly. No airport or bus arrivals. Michigan cadets prefered but out of state cadets may apply and will be considered for the training if certain travel and safety requirements are met. NSCTNG 017 - COAST GUARD STATEMENT OF UNDERSTANDING (Rev 02/18) is required.
Minimum age requirement: 14yrs
Minimum rank requirement: SA/AA (E2)
Minimum swim qualification: Basic Swimmer
Physical Readiness Test (PRT): Must have passing PRT in the last 6 months
Medical History Form: Must have current Medical History Form signed within 30 days of Event Start Date
Medical Exam Form: updated within the last year (360 days from the training date)
Required Correspondence Courses: Basic Military Requirements (BMR) (NAVEDTRA14325)
Cadets must arrive by 0730 on Monday of their training week and must be picked up by 1000 on Friday of their training week. Cadets should bring a sheet set and a light blanket. Seabag list: 2 sets NWU or CCUs. PT gear. Sleeping gear. Personal hygiene supplies. Swimwear and civilian attire.
